The founders of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease symptom.

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease symptom (CMT) was named after the three physicians who identified it:

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease symptom was first discovered in Europe by 3 European Drs.

Jean-Martin-Charcot was a French dr, Pierre Marie was a French dr and Howard Henry Tooth was a dr from the UnitedKingdom.

France and the United Kingdom are North western European countries, so the original Charco-Marie-Tooth disease symptom was founded in the North western part of Europe in the late 1800s.

Jean-Martin-Charcot, Pierre Marie and Howard Henry Tooth.

Their collective observations and descriptions of the disorder were made in the late 19th century, with the name "Charcot-Marie-Tooth" being established later in the 20th century to honor their contributions to understanding the condition.

Here are photos of the original founding drs of the original Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease symptoms.

What Charco-Marie-Tooth disease symptoms are and does

Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease symptom is a group of inherited nueropothy disorders that affect the peripheral nerves, leading to problems with muscle strength and sensation.

The disease does cause muscle weakness, nerve damage, difficulty with balance and coordination, foot deformities, and numbness or tingling in the extremities.

Symptoms vary widely among individuals with CMT, and the severity can also differ from person to person.

The different types of Charco-Marie-Tooth disease symptoms

CMT is categorized into different types based on genetic mutations and clinical characteristics.

Some common types include CMT 1, CMT 2, CMT 3 (also known as Dejerine-Sottas disease), CMT 4, and CMTX (X-linked).

Each type has specific genetic and clinical variations, leading to different patterns of symptoms and progression.

Charco-Marie-Tooth disease symptoms treatments and therapies.

Treatment for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease symptom primarily focuses on managing symptoms and providing support.

While there is no cure for CMT, various therapies and interventions can help manage the condition. These include:

Physical Therapy

Designed to maintain or improve muscle strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Occupational therapy

Aims to improve daily living skills, adapt to limitations, and find ways to optimize independence.

Orthopedic interventions

Such as bracing or orthopedic surgery to correct foot deformities and maintain functional movement.

Assistive devices

Devices like orthotic braces, canes, or walkers to aid in mobility and improve balance.

Medication

Pain management drugs, such as painkillers, may be prescribed to alleviate discomfort or pain associated with the condition.

Speech therapy

When CMT affects muscles involved in speech, therapy may be recommended.

Genetic counseling

Helps patients and families understand the genetic basis of the condition and make informed decisions.

It's crucial to consult a healthcare professional experienced in managing CMT to determine the most suitable combination of therapies and interventions based on individual symptoms and needs.

But what has worsened my Charco Marie Tooth disease symptom.

I have contracted a tick disease and environmental illnesses which has caused me to be closer to immobile.

Now I use wheel chairs and scooters to get around, when I rarely go anywhere and when I rarely get out of the house.
